Starting PGDR

PGDR almost didn't start - there was a catastrophic storyline hole. If I were to add massive amounts to the Dwemer Ruins, and someone began looking into a ruin I'd modded after they'd been in it before, it would look like the ruin had magically expanded. I wanted it to look like the ruins had been there all along and had just never been found.

Travel to Tel Vos, and visit Lord Aryon in his Chambers. Search for a golden Dwemer Book called "Dwemer Machine Operation". With this book, all of the Dwemer Machines in the ruins can be operated to reveal new pathways. Not only that, but Dwemer Satchel packs have been added to the leveled lists, and you can now blast your way to riches and fame in the depths of some of the ruins. Just make sure to stand well back from the blast - otherwise some Dwemer Ghost is going to get a chuckle out of your impromptu meeting with an incendiary payload.

Like I stated in the previous post, Arkngthunch-Sturdumz and Nchuleft are the only ruins that are expanded, and a bit of Arkngthand bas received work. Please, don't whine at me that I didn't do your favorite ruins first.

Oh, and I'm not going to extend Bamz-Amschend until the END of the PGDR project. It's big enough for now.

Enjoy,

PGDR - A Summary

The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind, is without a doubt one of the better Role-Playing Games for the PC. It may not have the graphical power of some of the newer games, and it might not have an all-guns-blazing Multiplayer mode, but the Editing Kit that comes with it enables users to add new content as they see fit.

And now on to the real deal.

Dwemer - cavern-dwelling dwarf-elves that inhabit the Morrowind continent of Vvardenfell. They vanished mysteriously thousands of years ago, leaving behind ruins far ahead of their time.

I remember the first time I went into a Dwemer Ruin. I was excited at the prospect of exploring the cavernous cities of an advanced civilization since lost to the mists of time.

And that's where it ended. Arkngthunch-Sturdumz - I remember the ruin's name to this day. It was a tiny one-room dungeon with about three enemies to kill. THIS was what an advanced civilization managed to accomplish?

Several people began working on a project - GDR - out of the same disappointment. There have been a few notable variations of the project. Darknut's GDR (DNGDR) extended the Dwemer Ruins on Red Mountain to epic proportions. Piratelord's GDR (PLGDR) was never publicly released, and was instead found buried in a resource pack on the TESNexus. Still, it had notable quality. GDR-N, by Nedius, was a project that was only seen in parts and pieces, but promised to look excellent until Nedius apparently retired the project.

That's where I came in. I was so pissed off that everyone kept quitting the project that I sat down and hammered out Arkngthunch-Sturdumz in a single night. The one-room dungeon is now a massive sprawling complex with working machinery, great halls, and a variety of rooms to explore. It has gone from one room to about twenty. Quite an improvement. New creatures and equipment complete the set - plenty to do.

I am posting a link for the first two ruins - Arkngthunch-Sturdumz and Nchuleft. There is minor work done in a few other ruins like Arkngthand, but nothing major... yet.
